The majority of the Viking people were traders and explorers. The Vikings built a trade network that covered most all of modern Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Northern India, and China. Northern Europe’s economy was transformed from an exchange system into a commercial trade economy.
Trade was the primary focus of almost all Vikings settlements. The Vikings passion for trade led to countless improvements of many different civilizations. The Vikings introduced ideas and goods that would not have been assessable, possibly saving a civilizations from their downfalls.
