Ancient Vikings

The Vikings were Scandinavian settlers from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The Viking age began around AD 700.  Many Vikings left Scandinavia and travelled to other countries, raiding and conquering.  But how did the Vikings get there? What about their ships was historical?
