Exploration and Development 

The Vikings were pretty much the most powerful civilizations of their time.  They reached out from the farthest corners of Europe to the eastern boarder of North America.  The Vikings were the first to reach North America only to be driven out by Native Americans.  The Vikings ruled territory all over Europe.  Evident cultural history in Iceland can be traced back to the Vikings including language, names of places, and their system of government.
